Dadhimukha took leave of Sugreeva and flew back to
Madhuvana. He went to Angada and saluted him and told him respectfully and said
“Lord the guards of Madhuvana were wrong in stopping you to enjoy the fruits
and honey. Please do not get angry. You are the chief of this garden so kindly
forgive us. I went and informed your uncle Sugreeva about your return and about
the destruction of Madhuvana but he was not at all displeased. He wanted to see
you all as quickly as possible”. Angada appreciated Dadhimukha’s clever words
and told all to hasten to go and meet Sugreeva and wait for his further orders.
He also added that it was not an order but a request.
As soon as the Vanaras heard these words from Angada they
all made a loud noise and rose in the sky and hurried to meet Sugreeva.
As they all were approaching Sugreeva told Rama “Devi has been found without any doubt. Otherwise, they would not dare to come here, especially when they surpassed the time allotted to them. Angada would have never thought of destroying Madhuvana a place so preciously guarded by our ancestors. Rama, this task of finding Sita could only be accomplished by Hanuman. Besides, there are Angada and Jambavan associated with this task. So Rama, do not be sad and become cheerful”.
Soon they heard the victorious cries of the Vanaras who
reached the place and landed near where Sugreeva was waiting along with Rama
and Lakshmana. Hanuman saluted Rama and told him in a few words that his wife
Sita who was following her Dharma was safe leading a life of chastity. Rama
heard from Hanuman’s mouth that Sita Devi was found. These words were like
nectar to his ears and he felt very happy and peaceful. Sugreeva was so happy
and Lakshmana felt great relief and happily looked at Rama. Rama blessed Hanuman
with all his heart.
Valmiki says that Hanuman mentioned just two words “Devi
Drushta” meaning ‘Sita was seen. Just these two words were enough and
appropriate to convey the essence of all news about Sita.
