Hinduism use to be known as “Sanatana Dharma”. Sanatana Dharma has no beginning, no end and is indestructible. Dharma is Righteousness. Sanatana Dharma is our guidelines and tells us how to live our life properly. It is laid out in accordance with our Vedas.

The most effective way to practice our life in accordance with our Sanatana Dharma is to find for ourself a True Guru who is very well versed with our Dharma and is practicnig it. Seek His Guidelines to live our life effectively. This is a long and and arduous task.

Gita provides us all we need to know of the Truths to live our life properly. Gita is meant to lift the aspirant from the lower levels of renunciation, where objects are renounced, to loftier heights where desires are dead, and where the Yogi dwells in calm and ceaseless contemplation while his body and mind are actively employed in discharging the everyday mundane duties (daily activities of the worldly things).

58) What are the essentials of Vedanta?

Vedanta is considered as the End of the Vedas. Vedanta teaches us two important things - First, Paramatma is the Truth or Brahmam is Satya, and the Second, this Universe is Illusion (Maya) or Jagat Mitya. In order to know the Paramatma, we have to overcome the Maya.

59) Why should we believe in rebirths?

The concept of Hinduism - if we live a truthful life in accordance with our Sanatana Dharma, do genuine Bhakti to Paramatma with devotion and in the process develop Jnyana and Vyragya, we should be able to obtain the grace of Paramatma and get Moksha. However, if we do not live the life as described above, then we will accumulate sins on a daily basis and when we die we will be born again. This explanation makes perfect sense and is very logical – therefore, we should believe in rebirths.
