Death of Akshakumara - Chapter 25

In the previous chapter, we saw The killing of five army chiefs. , Now we'll see Death of Akshakumara.

Ravana was at a loss and looked to his son Aksha for help who took the hint and started off to fight with Hanuman. He was a great warrior and he rode a chariot that shone like the sun. He carried powerful weapons which he had obtained after penance. Hanuman rose in the sky and Aksha too rose and fought to ride in his chariot. He wounded Hanuman in his head with his arrows, which he showered like a mountain showering rain. A fierce battle took place and even Gods and Devas shuddered at the sight of it. Hanuman flew through the arrows evading them like the wind. Finally, he realized that Aksha’s valor was increasing with time and so he decided to do with him. He killed his horses with his palm and smashed his chariot. Aksha then got down and attacked Hanuman with his sword. Hanuman caught him between his legs and swung him swiftly as Garuda would do to a serpent. Aksha’s limbs came apart and he fell down dead. Hanuman was praised by Indra and other Devas. Hanuman once more returned to his post awaiting further attack from rakshasas.

In the next chapter, We'll see Indrajit captures Hanuman.
