Mahaparshwa saw the death of Mahodara and attacked Angada and his army with fury. He felled the heads of many Vanaras which fell on the ground like fruits from a tree blown by a strong wind. Many Vanaras lost their lives and many fell unconscious and did not even feel their pain. Angada resisted him and made him unconscious for a while. Jambavan entered the scene and destroyed Mahaparshwa’s chariot and killed the horses. Angada continued to fight with Mahaparshwa using various weapons and finally delivered a strong blow to his chest. Mahaparshwa’s heart exploded and the rakshasa fell dead. The Vanara army raised such a loud noise that the structures in Lanka vibrated violently to the point of falling apart. (Valmiki’s description is really brilliant).
In the next chapter, We'll see Rama Ravana's war begins.
