Hanuman leaves Lanka - Chapter 33

In the previous chapter, we saw Hanuman’s concern about Sita’s safety. , Now we'll see Hanuman leaves Lanka.

Hanuman went back to Sita who was sitting still under the Shimshupa tree and saluted her and said that he was so happy to see her safe. Sita told him that she was convinced that he alone was capable of delivering her. She said that his strength was surely immeasurable but it would be more fitting if it were to be her husband who delivered her after killing the enemies. So she requested Hanuman to explain to Rama well the situation and impress upon him not to delay in coming and redeeming Sita.

Hanuman replied, “The Kakutstha King who is going to destroy the enemies and wipe off your sadness is going to come very soon surrounded by the Vanara army”. Then Hanuman left for Arishtha Hill to prepare for his flight back.

He climbed that hill which looked so beautiful with all its variety of forests, fauna, and flora. That hill was inhabited even by lions and tigers. There were mountain brooks flowing around. Several Rishis, Gandharvas, and Yakshas lived there. He climbed to the hilltop and grew bigger. Hanuman looked at the sea with all its creatures and started off like the wind God Vayu from the south towards the north. By the force, he exerted several parts of the hill broke and fell which made the lions roar loudly. As Hanuman left that hill it disappeared under the earth.

In the next chapter, We'll see Hanuman recounts his exploits to the Vanaras.
