God’s Grace

This is a very important aspect that we need to understand. God’s Grace - ‘Eeshwara Kripa’ - means ‘the nature and the circumstances will favour you in making your efforts succeed’.

We would have seen many times in our life that people with much lesser caliber succeeding phenomenally and men with great talents failing; similarly people having put enormous efforts not succeeding but people with little efforts succeeding, that too very enviably.

There is a famous song in Tamil by Poet Kannadasan ‘vettri pettra manidarellam buddisali illai, buddi ulla manidar ellam vetri kanbadillai’-meaning ‘all the successful people are not necessarily intelligent and not all those who are intelligent are successful’

Many people get upset with this because have not understood the concept of Eeshwara Kripa. This kripa is far more important than your talents, efforts and even your fate.

This kripa means the cosmic nature rewarding you for your innate good nature. This is not something you can’t gain by mantras or poojas.

This can be gained only by 1) you being good-really good. What it means to be good; it means that you should be pure in your deeds, words and more importantly in thoughts 2) by being helpful to as many beings as you can and 3)never being bad or harmful to any being.

Earning this kripa is very simple and easy provided we are aware of this, conscious of this and implement this.

If you adopt this approach to your life style you will be a source of bliss to all and all will a source of blessings to you.

That is what God is-he is blissful and blessful. You have aligned with him and then he is with you, ahead of you, besides you and as well behind you in all your efforts.

This kripa can even neutralize the effects of destiny – that is why Krishna says I will try and present a better alternative if you deserve my blessings.

So it will be an alternative which will have the challenges as dictated by your fate-the karmic effects-but will be a far better alternative.

In addition this kripa will make you to respond appropriately and not madly or wrongly which would have been the case if you lacked this kripa.

Now look at all those succeeded – you will find the most common thread amongst them– they all had the opportunity presented to them and they were blessed to correctly use. This is exactly how kripa works.

Compare with the ones who has not got this benefit of kripa-either he would not have had the opportunity or even if he had, he would not have made a good use of that opportunity.

In common terminology this krupa is called as ‘adrishta’– ‘a- dhrishta’- un seen -yes it is the unseen hand of God.

Now a question may rise in your mind , what use of mantras, dhyanas, poojas, temples etc then.

All these things are required to make us ‘to be good and to be doing good’ since not all of us are born with that inborn ability because of our karmic bondages.

But after all these mantras, dhyanas, poojas etc., whether ‘you are good’ is in your hands and without being good, the mantras etc ., cannot get you the grace; like just a mattress can’t by itself make you sleep; it can only create an ambience to sleep.

More importantly you can be good without reciting any mantras , in as much as you can sleep even without a mattress.

This krupa can work- instantaneously when it is called a ‘miracle’; can work soon when it is called ‘luck’; and get carried forward for next birth when it is called ‘purva punya’

Therefore make no mistake the real route to be successful and blissful is only ‘Eeshwara krupa’ – the God’s grace and to get that the only route is ‘being good in thought, words and deeds’
