For why Akshaya Tritiya celebrated

There are many important reasons which make Akshaya Tritiya so special. Here are the few reasons for celebrating Akshaya Tritiya.
    1. Akshaya Tritiya is the day which marks the beginning of ‘SathyaYug’ or Golden Age – first of four Yugas.
    2. According to Puranas, the epic Mahabharata is started writing by Veda Vyasa on the guidance of Lord Ganesha.
    3. On this day, river Ganges, the holy river of India start descended from heaven to earth.
    4. During Mahabharata, when Pandavas were expelled and barred from their native country, Lord Krishna presented an ‘Akshaya Patra’ to them on this day. Akshaya Patra is a bowl which produces unlimited food and never goes empty.
    5. Another known most famous story of Akshaya Tritiya is Sudama who is the poor childhood friend of Lord Krishna. Sudama came to Krishna’s palace to get some financial help on this day. He has nothing in his hand to give as a gift to Krishna except handful of ‘Poha’, beaten rice. But Krishna accepted Poha and blessed his friend with wealth.
    6. Lord Parashurama, one of the avatars of Lord Krishna born on this day.

The popular poojas which are to be performed on this day is for Goddess Mahalakshmi and Lord Vishnu, Goddess Mother Earth, Cow, horse and Elephant.
