Vedic Wisdom

Yoga, Dhyana, Mantra Systems

The Vedic wisdom has singularly contributed for the yoga system; meditation systems; mantras- yantra –tantra systems all effectively ensuring motivating the mind and uplifting the mind which is the only way to have a blissful life. In fact Vedas state very clearly that this universe is made of bliss, made from bliss and made for bliss.

On other material sciences

Till now we have seen how the vedic wisdom in respect of metaphysics, is far ahead of any modern science. Now we will see how does it compare with the modern science in the realm of other material sciences:

Psychology:

While all other metaphysical philosophies have a closed system and regimented procedures Vedas opted for an open and free system.

While all religions regimented Vedas simply recommended.

While all other religions had an uni track, Vedas permitted multi track.

While all religions adopted an attitude of ‘ I say you do’ Vedas permitted ‘I suggest you choose’.

At every point Vedas were very clear that the mind is the strongest instrument of man and it can only be cajoled, cultivated, motivated, molded and guided and can never be controlled or regimented.

This is what the modern psychology says now , which our sages have said 5000 years ago.

Physiology

The Vedic approach has been to tackle the root of the problem and not the symptoms. You have to water the root and not the leaves. That is why Sage Thiruvalluvar says ‘a Good physician has to analyse the disease, it’s immediate cause and the root cause and then only he will be able to diagnose properly ; with which only he can prescribe the remedy and cure’.

Therefore they understood the body in all its elements – not just what they are immediately made up off – the blood, flesh, bone etc., they understood what the blood, flesh and bone etc, are made up of; and what that source material is they are in turn made up of, until they reached the complete manual of all source materials, it’s qualities and characteristics its permutations and combinations. Therefore if there is an ailment they were immediately able to relate it to the root and remedy it. Ayurveda is based on all the above mentioned Vedic wisdom of universal laws and as such they could know how to manipulate it through the quantum field.

The Vedic wisdom recognized not only the physical organs but also the non physical organs and more importantly the power glands/nodes, it’s flow, route, intersection, locations of such nodes and intersections in the body, methods of activating and manipulating it etc., The Kundalini yoga is Latin and Greek for the modern scientists though today the western world is the biggest customer and beneficiary of this Vedic wisdom.

They always looked at the concept of ‘prevention is better than cure’ and therefore adopted the method of ‘no drugs; but the food itself will be both food and drug’. In other words they went in for the healthy food culture of non toxic, nutritious and conducive foods thus eliminating the possibility of creation of any imbalance in the system of the body.

The modern medicine looks at the disease as a standalone problem and gives medicines to quickly resolve it without solving the base issue – in other words palliatives and not curative. This has caused a double disadvantage to humanity. Since immediate relief is made available by the modern medicine the humanity is recklessly adopting unhealthy life style resulting in grave diseases on the one side and the basic disease still remaining unsolved on the other side.

Since Ayurveda is a way of life, as all vedic sciences are, it takes a wholesome approach and not an adhoc approach. Unfortunately the current day fast people , for whom today has become more important than tomorrow Ayurveda looks like a superstition.

The main problem is the modern science and modern people are, they are looking for pleasures whereas the Vedas and the sages were looking for Bliss. There is a whole world of difference between the two. The only common thing is ‘happiness’. But the modern day pleasure wants immediate, at any cost, by any means happiness not worried about what will be its after effects; but the vedic bliss is happiness without any negative reaction. The pleasure looks at ‘short term’ whereas bliss looks at happiness ‘forever’.
