GIRI WELCOMES ALL TO ITS NEW SHOWROOM @ CHEMBUR MUMBAI

GIRI GROUP has opened its new showroom at Chembur, Mumbai on 23/02/2011. Our guests of honor were Hon. Justice Shri B.N. Srikrishna and Shri .V. Shankar, President of South Indian Education Society & Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sabha.

The showroom was inaugurated by Hon. Justice Shri B.N. Srikrishna. The function started by lighting of lamp by Hon. Justice Shri B.N. Srikrishna and Shri V. Shankar, later followed by our Chairman T.S. Raghavan and Sharada Madam.

Our new showroom @ Chembur is a spacious one with ample parking facility. Easily accessible from railway station and also those opting for roadways as near to Eastern Express Highway and placed in Centre of Chembur. This is the third new showroom opened for the financial year 2010 - 2011, the first being at Alwarthirunagar, Chennai and second at Thillai Nagar, Trichy.

We thank one and all for the outstanding support and team work rendered in making the function a grand success. We appreciate the tremendous effort put in to make the event a remarkable one, especially by Mumbai Team and request to keep the same spirit for the forthcoming showrooms.

GIRI Womens Day Celebration 2011

GIRI celebrated Women’s Day on March 8th 2011 at RAGA SUDHA HALL. Our Chief guests were Smt. Ranjani, Film Actress and Canara Bank General Manager Smt. Lalitha Lakshmanan. Giri Celebrates Women’s Day in recognition of Late Smt. Lakshmi Giri who has been the biggest support in the start and growth of GIRI, who remains as ideal personality and role model and of course more than 50% of staff are women.

The program started with Bumper prize distribution to those who made themselves present in the auditorium hall by 8.45 AM for the event. The competitions like Rangoli, Flower Garland making and Dance were held. Many of them participated with great enthusiasm. The delightful event moved forward with Welcome song by our showroom staff, Dance Competitions, Interactive HR Training Programme by Mrs. Indrani Singh, Drama “Arugampillin Mahimai” by students of SRDF Vivekananda Vidyalaya Chrompet.

Smt. Vasumathi was invited to Judge Rangoli and Flower garland making competitions and Smt. Sushama Ranganathan headed as Judge for Dance competitions

The drama was headed by Smt. Surya Mangal and performed by the little stage performers of the school wonderfully which was enjoyed by one and all.

The event was a enjoying and enthusiastic one which would remain as a memorable one in the hearts of the GIRI Staff and Directors. This is one such event where the GIRI staff, Management and the Directors come together to enjoy and rejoice the unity and bond of love which unites them.

Our new showroom is a spacious one with ample parking facility placed at the Centre of the City, near to Bishop Heber College, easily accessible from railway station.
This is the second new showroom opened for the year 2010, the first being at Alwarthirunagar in Chennai and are soon going to open the third at Chembur in Mumbai

About the artist T.M. Krishna:
One of the leading figures in Carnatic music, T.M. Krishna is a performer, teacher, composer and researcher. A representative of the classicists, his music reflects the core values of Carnatic music. His resonant and mellifluous voice and strict adherence to classicism have enriched his art. His music is marked with a very high level of aesthetics in conception and execution. He is known for his tremendous manodharma (imagination) and sampradaya (traditional) sangeetha (music). His complete involvement and his ability to unfold ragas with ease have left many listeners lost in his music. His renditions of Vilamba Kalam (slow tempo) compositions, soaked with bhakthi (devotion) and bhava (emtion) are a treat to every listener.

He his delivered lectures on various topice ranging from music appreciation to creativity in numerous prestigious universities such as Harvard University, IIT Madras, IIM Bangalore. He is the founder of various organizations like the Jnanarnava Foundation, Sumanas Trust, Kalaachaara Marumalarchi Trust. These organaizations are active in the fields of music research, propogation of Carnatic music in the rural areas of tamilnadu and providing financial support to talented students from rural areas to access quality musical education.
